UPD: As of today(Sept. 28), more than 1 million people have signed.

UPD: Pledge day is tomorrow (Wednesday). AT&T employees will have on their “No Text on Board” T-shirts, and they’ll be happy to give you a “No Text on Board” bumper sticker if you sign the pledge.

The ultimate goal is a pledge to never text while driving, and the day to sign is Sept. 19.

AT&T has focused for the past couple of years on stopping teens from texting while driving with its “It Can Wait” campaign. According to AT&T, more than 100,000 vehicle crashes happen each year in which the driver was texting and someone dies or is injured. Teens are at higher risk because of they are inexperienced drivers.

Check out AT&T’s campaign at www.itcanwait.com and decide if you are willing to sign the pledge. If it helps, AT&T has an app for your phone which will send a customized text to those texting you that you are driving and will get back to them once you arrive.
